I need one for work (for Mac) and I wouldn't mind one of my own (for PC).
We can probably pay for the Mac one.
Any recommendations/links?
Slim slow slider - sidechain (http://www.kvraudio.com/get/1315.html)
I'm not too sure about the Mac one though. Which DAW do you use? If it's one of the major ones (Logic, Cubase, Ableton) then there should be native sidechaining.

Protools for Mac, Cubase SX on PC.

So I think you can have native sidechain in Pro Tools (only ever used it for mixing and mastering so I don't really know too much about what it can and can't do)
Hope that helps.

It does, I think! I'll give that a try this afternoon. Might save us some cash.

Awesome, this works with most of our compressors. It's mostly for using with voice-to-music stuff but I'm going to try out the same thing on Cubase for music.
Much appreciated.

i think theres something where you can't side chain in cubase. i remember my tutor at uni telling me. not sure if he meant just the native one but hey!
and as for 'tools. the native one has a really quite nice side chain.

I think he's right. Altough there is a way round that using some kind of four-way stereo group. I'm looking into it now.

seems like a blag to me. i like my sidechains to be quick and easy to set up, no ****ing around. hence why i think cubase for audio = long winded and made of fail.

Cubase#4 has native sidechaining with the update. Before that I don't think it did.
