NEW BATTLE OF THE BANDS TO WIN STUDIO AND CASH!!
Get It Loud in Libraries @ Lancashire Libraries in conjunction with Leeder's Farm Studios and British Energy Present:
Lancashire Libraries seek the next Springsteen!
A beautiful state of the art recording studio complete with luxury accommodation and its own chef awaits the winner of Lancashire Libraries' latest Battle of the Bands contest to allow one lucky local band the chance to fulfil their potential and show the county, indeed the world, what they can do.
Leeder's Farm in the heart of the Norfolk countryside is the destination of the lucky winning band. The studio, which features world-class recording facilities, has been used by world renowned artists like KT Tunstall, The Darkness, Bruce Springsteen, Nick Cave and Oasis, and now Lancashire Libraries are offering one band the chance to join the elite.
Unsigned bands from around the county are urged to send their demo CDs Myspace links and mp3s to their local library for inclusion in the contest and the chance to record at Leeder's Farm, one night's accommodation and the full use of an engineer for a day. Thanks to British Energy the lucky band will also have £500 to make the prize even more worth winning!
Heats will be arranged at selected libraries around the county(Harris-Accrington-Thornton etc) and the grand finale held at Lancaster Library in November where a panel of judges will decide the winner..
Lancashire Libraries are no stranger to the live rock experience with its award winning project Get It Loud In Libraries winning acclaim both locally and nationally for allowing safe all ages access to some of the fastest rising bands around.
Much like Adele and The Wombats before them, it is hoped the Battle Of the Bands competition allows local talent to use the library platform to leap to bigger things.
Unsigned bands are invited to send their 3 nominated tracks on CD to:
Battle Of The Bands, Lancaster Library, Market Square, Lancaster LA1 1HY, or by email to
or by message to www.myspace.com/getitloudinlibraries
With full contact details.
Bands have until Sept 30th to submit their entries.
Heats will take place in October at a number of libraries in Lancashire with the final at Lancaster Library later in the year
