She danced slowly across the porch, like a vision. My idea was that she might get into my car, and we'd drive off. Essentially anywhere, I guess. It wasn't going to be easy.

She wasn't a beauty, but hey, she was alright.

A full 30 years later, New Zealand Story was born. With a dream that songs should be about love, and that conversation should be about basketball.

In the face of an ocean of music about drinking stella and vomiting on a dance floor, New Zealand Story will be performing a massive TWO gigs this month.

Basically, if you miss them both, you lose at life.

GIG 1: Mad Ferrett THIS SUNDAY

GIG 2: Williamson Park, Lancaster, MONDAY 25th! That's a bank holiday! Guys, if the sun comes out, you can have an ice-cream and brush the hair from the forehead of your beloved. You can take off your ironic piss-stained pink converse for a while and be taken back to a time when it meant something to love someone. To hold hands in the sunshine.

Then later, to shoot some hoops and discuss physics.

You just can't hold these Hamiltons back when they get an idea in their heads.

I look forward to seeing you at BOTH these events to find out, Leona.

Oh, come off it. The Preston mid-life society would surely form an orderly convoy of fuel-efficient vehicles up the M6 just for the chance of a Cornetto in the park with Wright, Hamilton and Townsend, let alone to see what priceless musical offerings Lancaster had in store.

See you there!

On reflection, this guy still has no basketball.

It's close enough.

Although the white guy has 3 hands, which makes it even more ace.

"And the dog keeps throwing up in things, after looking through the bin for chicken wings"

Or something like that. Made me happy.

ALSO, the Green Beret song is "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. Don't try to deny it.

Who better sums up the horrors of civil war than Billy Joel, a man forever at war with himself
