SO the Oxford (the one in Blackpool, and not the Blackpool in Oxford) are definitely booking gigs... right now! And all I have to do is contact Dean on 07843 828798?

I listened too.

I think that's one of those songs that I'd really get lost in if I was watching it live. Don't know about listening at home though.

Actually, do you have anything to buy/download? I've been meaning to ask you for ages.

I like it, I've tried to keep away from the local stuff lately cus I just get clouded by it all. I just sample from time to time.

Kick Reverb Spot on.
Vocal Pan, very nice.
Maybe not too sure about the dead stopping of the lead synth @2:04, I would have gone with a slower release or reverb/delay on a send. But that's preference.

Wasn't expecting the double time! NOUICE!

Fills on the fast loop maybe?(Remember I have short attention span) But still without it helps it power on forwards. I like the abrupt ending.

I cant think of actual improvements, everything here is preference, your mix/sounds are good by me.

I'm coming with your cable now.

Sort that DVD ;P ;)

Gah I'm not at home! I'll be in about 5:30ish!

It's not just a double time - it's a switchout to a 4/4 beat over a 3/4 structure :) I agree about the fills - I'm going to revisit that section, it's making them variable without them starting to try to take the glory, if you know what I mean.

I tried a delay/reverb out on the synth stop, but found I preferred it without - I think the delay felt a bit too much like what it should do, if you know what I mean?

Yeah, I don't know if we'll ever actually do this one live - I think I'd like to though.

I hadn't noticed, I'll listen again. Maybe its good I didnt notice, cus it sounds right. Unlike the usual 7/8 metal surprise bar.

Yep totally get yer.

Actually, do you have anything to buy/download? I've been meaning to ask you for ages.

There's stuff on the myspace (http://www.bikiniblackspecial.com) that you can download (search around, there are oddities and one-offs hidden away around the page). There's also stuff on our Facebook fan page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Bikini-Black-Special/6349342439)

We still have copies of our "All Rise EP" with The Brain Song, We Are The Opposition and Black Hat (All Rise) on them for a bargain £2. You can order from the myspace or just gimme a shout and I'll sort you one out.

Finally, coming as soon as we have it finished is our first album, provisionally entitled "The Grim Mathematics Of Intercourse" - which we're working like dogs to get finished. More details to follow when it's ready to roll.

Also, why not come and see us at Manchester Night And Day on July 19th? Should be a splendid gig :)

That gig did appeal actually, when I read about it. It's a maybe that one.

As for the music, I shall have a download frenzy later on when this blasted headache has gone.

Must get off computer.

I think I might put this as a hidden track on the album - it's proved very marmitey for people, which is entertaining :)

I gotta be honest, I'm not keen. Not that the Digby version was spectacular or anything, but it had more progressions, more dynamics, more melody and so on. It worked well as a kind of nerdy existentialist 3am bar chorus thing. It sounded cynical. This sounds bizarre and spooky, but somehow doesn't seem to fit the subject matter.

He he I dunno - I was going for "the kind of drunk where you're going to fall down, shit yourself, puke, or all three", rather than "the kind of drunk where you wave a tankard about and sing loudly" - it was always a drunk song for me though :)
