1: we (prestone.co.uk) make no warranties for the fitness, or quality of good sold through this section of the board.
2: All goods sold on here must be the property of the vendor. If any board memeber is found to be selling stolen goods, their details will be passed on to the relevant authorities. We will assist the police in any investigation resulting of a complaint made about items being sold here.
Now the oficial Bit is over with:
3: This is not an auction site, try e-bay if you want to auction something. Name a price or risk a thread closure. Likewise with difficult to obtain products may not be sold for a higher value than they are retailed for. If you sell a console here then be aware it sells for the price you paid + postage. If you are attempting to make money by buying brand new consoles then selling them on see the rule about professional traders.
4: Please check the prices of anything you are selling here. If you see something being sold for £50 brand new, then don't expect to get £45 second hand.
5: All goods should be described as accurately as possible. If there are any marks or damage on something you are selling it is your responsibility to say that.
6: If something being sold is inside it's warranty life it is good practice to pass on the reciept with item if the buyer requests it. You don't need to prove you own it, and won't need to claim on the guarantee, the new owner may find they have to.
7: Incomplete items. If an item you are selling won't work on its own then say that. If it needs a special power cord that isn't included, or needs some piece of hardware to make it work then say that in your advertisement.
8: Hijacking threads. Do not hijack a thread to converse unless the conversation relates directly to the objects being sold. this will mean deletion of any posts made.
9: Cost, if you feel that something is over or under priced then PM the person selling it to say so. Putting up a post saying "Rip Off, this is too expensive" will simply mean your post gets removed. If people believe something is too expensive they won't buy it. Simple as.
10: Duplicating topics: If you are selling something and you already have post up about it, don't duplicate it. Just bump it, we will delete the newest topic if you do this.
11: Making offers: If someone makes an offer of a price and you accept it then it is good practice to actually sell the item. If a member repeatedly posts things for sale, accepts the price then sells it to another person for more that user will be banned from posting in the for sale section.
12: Posting Topics: Please use the following format for thread titles, it makes life easier for us all:
FS:- "Insert Item here" Item is for sale
Wtd:- "Insert Item here" Item is wanted
PCh:- "Insert Item here" Price check wanted on item.
This is a free service we offer on here, most of us know eachother and we should follow these rules by common courtesy.
13 :Concert Ticket Sales :
We have no problem with these being sold here, however any attempt to sell them for more than their face value and we'll delete the post. Also, if you want to auction them use e-bay, not prestone. Name the price you want for them, ticket sales threads turned into auctions will result in thread deletion.
14 : Football tickets:
These may _not_ be sold here under any circumstances. Don't argue on this one, it is a legal point.
15 : Professional traders.
Naff off, unless you have explicit permission from the Lead Admin (me) you aren't allowed to trade through here. Professional traders using prestone as a sales channel without prior agreement otherwise accept that they will pay 50% of their gross profit per item for the upkeep of the site.
16 : Pirated Games/Warez/DVD Rips ETC.
Just don't, we will ban anyone attempting to sell any of these things.
17 : Attempting to sell your products inside someone else's thread will not be tolerated. Start your own thread rather than hijacking one. On the first offence you will be warned, but a second offence will result in removal of posting rights to the For Sale section.
