Lame to fame

Post by KingsleyAnus »

What's the most tangential, pointless, unimpressive link to celebrity you have?

My mam was Vera from out of off of ITV Sunday-night cozy-crime borefest "Vera"'s body double. Whenever you see Brenda Blethyn from behind or in long shot, it isn't her, it's a much cheaper retired librarian from Gateshead.

I went on a date with the daughter of a cast member of The Archers.

it didn't last. I was more of a Waggoner's Walk man.

I've got an even weaker one that that. I matched and online flirted with a lass for a while but we never actually got round to meeting IRL. She went on to be The Vixen from out of off of The Chase.

Oh I do actually know Jenny these days. Really nice person. Was in the Bolton music scene for yonks before coining it on telly quiz.

I got blanked by Des Lynham once. Was walking down a corridor at the bbc after watching my then husband in mastermind. Saw Des but I did that thing where I knew I knew him from somewhere but brain hadn't caught up yet so I said hi. He literally turned his face away as he walked past.

Also got called a scrounger on live national tv last year by Richard Madely. Well, not directly, he said something like "one of our viewers emailed in and said you are scroungers", luckily Izzy off Corrie answered because I probably would have said something stupid.

As referred to elsewhere on this website, my Dad met Steve Evets off Brassic (plays Farmer Jim) at a Frank Zappa tribute gig and they took a photo together because they look alike. Steve then tweeted it with the comment "tweedlecunt and tweedlecunt" which my Dad found hilarious and now repeats to anyone who will listen.

Once went to see Sharon Hodgson MPs daughter play Nancy in the school production of Oliver! the musical.

Hid from Steve Lamaq at a star 27 gig upstairs at the Adelphi. Nick was speaking to him but I was shy and for some reason decided physically trying to hide behind my boyfriend was more sensible than just nonchalantly walking away.

Does being on a 'Kunt and the Gang' album sleeve count?
I want to be proud of that one.

I once had Professor Green pet my dog at the motorway services. Fatboy did his standard "I'm SUCH a good boy" dance.

I think I am on the inner sleeve of the 'Hurry up and Suck me off Before I get Famous' album. Well I know I am on one of them, and I am pretty sure it is that one! I will see if I can find the photo.

Another one is I moved in't same circles as the lads from Terrorvision for a time. Tony Wright is hilarious. It is odd that I ended up being part of that group, because I had originally once met them when I was about 17 in a restaurant in Shipley when Tony asked me to take a photo of them all and handed me a camera. I don't think he thought I'd know who they were.

I have found the photo but I can't upload it--I keep reading 'invalid file format' etc.

I saw him eyeing them up and offered to let him get in there first, he seemed genuinely touched

My Mum lives next door to Alison Lowe OBE, does that count?

She's very down to earth. We were talking about bras last time we were at the same gathering.

I used to occasionally compete in Irish Dancing competitions against that Steph McGovern from off of that Steph's Packed Lunch what used to be on the telly.

I once went to a house party after DJing in Liverpool which turned out to be at Danny from Ladytron's flat. Pete Wylie and approximately half of the Zutons were there.

Another Irish Dancing one, when Riverdance was at it's peak we did the mystery guest spot on A Question of Sport with John Aldridge. He borrowed my spare shoes as I was the only one with the same size feet, he was very nice.
