Oranges: Got some days off this week with no uni or work
Lemons: Still knackered and also skint. Also day off just means I have appointments and housework and have to do boring admin things like invoices and applications. cba.

Currently lying down sipping a sugary drink to recover from the strain of having a bath. Ridiculous.

Re: Describe your political journey from 2006 to now
It gets impossible to have a normal conversation with right wingers in the end as well.

Re: The adult neurodivergence realisation/diagnosis thread
I was officially diagnosed with adhd this week and my autism appointment is soon. I've known for a long time but going to uni prompted me to actually get tested.

Re: Lame to fame
I got blanked by Des Lynham once. Was walking down a corridor at the bbc after watching my then husband in mastermind. Saw Des but I did that thing where I knew I knew him from somewhere but brain hadn't caught up yet so I said hi. He literally turned his face away as he walked past.

I see the opposite of that a lot in the third sector. "we don't care about your qualifications or contacts, you just need passion" then everyone they employ has a PPE MA from bloody LSE.

Job hunting moan
Applying to jobs. Why is pay basically random? It doesn't seem to relate to how hard the job is.
I have a "portfolio career" which basically means I do loads of things and never know how much money I will have at any given time. It does suit me though, I enjoy it. I'd get bored with just one job ...

Re: Elderly parents *sigh*
My mum is still working (as a nurse in a nursing home) but I really think she needs to slow down a bit. That's just her though, I don't think age is an issue particulary, she has various grandkids two days a week too. She moans about doing too much but then continues to do too much.

Just that really. Any gigs that you are looking forward to?
the Guest List are at the Ferret in April, but I think that's it currently in the diary for Preston.
Pygmy Twilite and Carsie Blanton are both visiting Future Yard in Birkenhead soonish but that's not Preston.
Non music wise, got tickets ...

Re: Where are they now?
I'm still in touch with quite a few of the old gang, mostly we talk about boring middle aged things now though. I don't want to name the innocent who have lives now lol but I had a birthday party recently where we did some Prestone reminiscing.

Re: Describe your political journey from 2006 to now
I'm more woke I think. I have in that time joined Labour and been slightly politically active, but then got involved in a few non party campaigns, met with some ministers and similar people a few times, done some media work around benefits cuts (Richard Madely is a dickhead, Victoria Derbyshire is ...

Fil is doing stand up quite publicly so that's probably fine to share. Seems to be getting some level of success with it.
Bethany is still posting comedy stuff online, not sure if she actively still does stand up but she was in doctor who at one point.

Johnny yen was Nick Duffy. He had two kids with me, we got married then divorced over a decade ago.
He's still knocking around, hasn't really changed. Sometimes runs the quiz at vt (about once a month). He mostly drinks in vt and moorbrook.

I occasionally bump into Dazlamb. He has a dog now instead of a lizard. Seems fairly happy, the same laid back friendly person.
